Validation Test Report
Juniper Networks Secure Access 6000 (SA 6000) SSL VPN


From February through April 2007, Independent Testing Services, powered by Network Computing Labs™ (ITS) was contracted by Juniper Networks to independently validate specific capabilities of the Secure Access 6000. The following claims of the SA 6000 were subject to open and independent testing verification:
  1. A single Juniper SA 6000 can sustain 3,000 concurrent HTTPS clients authenticating to Microsoft Active Directory and accessing Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) content.
  2. Dual Juniper SA 6000s front ended by a Juniper DX load balancer can sustain 6,000 concurrent HTTPS clients authenticating to Microsoft Active Directory and accessing OWA content.
  3. A single Juniper SA 6000 can sustain 3,000 Juniper Network Connect (NC VPN) clients.

Validation Test Report
Juniper Networks J-series Services Routers


From September through November 2005, Independent Testing Services, powered by Network Computing Labs (ITS), was contracted by Juniper Networks to independently validate specific capabilities of its J-series Services Routers. The following claims of Juniper Networks were subject to open and independent testing verification:
  1. The J-series Services Routers are able to maintain maximum WAN throughput rates with minimal performance degradation when the following advanced services are enabled: firewall filters, stateful firewall, NAT/PT, BGP, OSPF and J-flow. Consistent performance was validated for each of the J-series platforms:

    • J2300 Services Router at maximum WAN throughput (full duplex) across 2x T-1 interfaces.
    • J4300 Services Router at maximum WAN throughput (full duplex) across 8x T-1 interfaces.
    • J6300 Services Router at maximum WAN throughput (full duplex) across a T-3 interface.


  2. The J-series Services Routers are able to maintain consistent performance with advanced services (as stated in Validation Claim #1) enabled while converging 350,000 BGP routes and 15,000, 20,000 and 30,000 OSPF routes on the J2300, J4300 and J6300, respectively.
